Island to Tequesta.  The golf course opened in 1957 and many have followed from Turtle Creek to Jupiter Hills.  The name Tequesta came from a strong Indian Tribe of South Florida who encroached the nomadic Jeagas inhabiting they are at that time.

Most of the 6,000 residents are on the mainland but a small stretch of Tequesta has the Atlantic Ocean as its backyard.  Coral Cove Park is also a Tequesta address in Palm Beach County.  Natural limestone rock formations let snorkelers see wondrous underwater visuals when the conditions are right.  Besides the incredible scenery where many a family photo has been taken upon the rocks, is great surfing in the wintertime.  On the Intracroastal side, boats dock during weekends and family have great fun in the shallow water.  Upon the Jupiter Island Bridge overlooking the historic Jupiter Lighthouse is great snook fishing.
